Internet usage 2006-2008

When I was researching the stats for the amount of internet usage in 2006-2008  I found an interesting site which was http://www.emarketer.com/Reports Online life is thriving in the UK. From my source eMarketer estimates that 1.3 million UK residents have come online since 2007, and a similar number will access the Web for the first time between 2006 and 2008.

The UK Internet Users and Usage report analyzes the continued growth of online population in a country that is already, in many areas, a pace setter for the rest of the world.

The eMarketer source estimates that the number of Internet users in the UK reached 36.8 million in 2007, and will pass 38 million in 2008—equivalent to 62.6% of the entire population.

18.3 million households in the UK (70 per cent) had Internet access in 2008. This is an increase of just under 2 million households (11 per cent) over the last year and 4 million households (28 per cent) since 2006.
